Frequently Asked Question

Q: Do you breed other kittens as well?

We hope that this message finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to you today to express our fondness for all kittens – their cute, fluffy faces and wagging tails never fail to bring a smile to our own faces. However, we feel that it is important to clarify that our focus and dedication lies solely with Maine Coon kittens.

Q: Do you have any available kittens right now?

A: Yes! With many families traveling for end of year festivals, we have adorable kitten litters available. Click the Reserve button on the top right to send in your application and deposit. Kitten selection happens when kittens turn 7 weeks old. This allows us to ensure that temperament evaluations are completed first. By 8 weeks they’re ready to start kitten kindergarten or go home with their furever family!

Q: How do I get on the list?

A: You can get on the waitlist by filling out an application and sending in your reservation fee. The reservation fee is $500 and will go towards the cost of your future kitten. You can submit your application in by clicking here. Due to the growing number of applications we receive every single day, please remember you are not officially placed on the list until the reservation fee has been received. We carefully review applications to be sure we are doing all we can to ensure a good placement for our kittens. Each kitten is very special to us and a forever family is our top priority.

Q: How does my kitten get home?

A: We highly encourage you to pick up your kitten in person, as we get really excited to meet our “furever” families and officially welcome you to the Bluegrass family. We also understand that this is not possible for all of our families that live farther away. We have several options depending on the travel distance. We are happy to connect you to some of our very favorite drivers. We can also help connect you with flight nanny service as well. We have a favorite flight nanny, but sometimes it’s even one of us if possible. We love to meet our furever families when possible. Your kitten stays with us or the flight nanny the entire time! We will help coordinate the transportation of the kitten, but the financial responsibility is that of the new kitten owner. Flight costs can vary, but are usually $500 for anywhere in the continental United States.

Q: Why don’t you post your list on your website?

A: We don’t post our list anywhere as it doesn’t give an accurate representation of where you are on the list. Sometimes we have families that decide they want to wait a little longer, when this happens the list shifts. Other times we have families that pay their deposit because they’re waiting for a certain litter. We also have no way of predicting the amount of kittens that will be born into each litter, so even if you were to see the list it wouldn’t give you an accurate idea of how long the wait will be. Because of this we’ve chosen not to make our list public. We promise, as soon as you’re towards the top of the waitlist, we will contact you! Until then, stay tuned for updates
